Service and outreach ministries help address the needs of the people of the parish and surrounding community, especially the poor, and to meet those needs by enlisting members of the parish to volunteer their time and talents. Involvement in these programs greatly enhances our Christian presence within the community.
- Elizabeth Ministry ~ Elizabeth Ministry is an outreach to women during the childbearing years. It is based on Jesus’ vision of the goodness, beauty and truth of human life. Elizabeth Ministers share their presence, stories, and experiences to support, encourage, console, and at times bring healing to other women.
- English as a Second Language (ESL) ~ Individuals, whose first language is something other than English, receive support with their language acquisition goals. Volunteers assist ESL students working to become fluent in oral, written, and spoken English.
- Needy Meal Program ~ Provides a nutritious meal to needy individuals at a South Side meal site. Volunteers prepare and serve the meal, typically on the first Monday of each month.
- Respect Life Ministry (Conception through Death) ~ Works to educate parishioners on the appreciation of the “Gift of Life.”
Saint Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry ~ An emergency food pantry located in the Parish Center is open on Wednesdays from 10:00-11:00 A.M. A group of volunteers contact donors and collect and organize food donations. Parishioners donate needed items through periodic “reverse collections” during which coupons noting needed items are distributed at the beginning of Mass.
