"World Without End," by author Ken Follett is the next book selection for the Christian Women Book Club. Date for the discussion will be sometime in October.
This weekend, August 8-9, we welcome Fr. Simon Minyati, OFM Conv. for our Mission Appeal Weekend. Fr. Simon has served as a formation director, parish priest, and retreat director in his native Kenya. A collection will taken up next weekend for the Conventual Franciscan Missions, with proceeds going to support the education of young friars throughout Africa, Asia, and Latin America as well as the friars' work among the poor in these regions.
Female parishioners who are, or will be, in college should apply. Two $500 scholarships will be awarded at our luncheon in June to students who show committed service to our parish, community or other charitable services.
The annual celebration of Catholic Schools Week will take place Sunday, January 25 through Saturday, January 31. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service." A schedule of events is available on the tables at the back of the church.
"English as a Second Language" classes will resume on Tuesday, September 9. Volunteer tutors are need. With English classes resuming and students eager to learn, The ESL Program gives you the opportunity to help others.
After their summer hiatus, the members of the Basilica Choir are eager to return to the 10:00am Mass on Sundays. The choir, under the direction of Mr. Christopher Berry, begins their regular season this weekend on Sunday, September 7.
Ignited High School Youth Group Sunday, August 24th @ 6pm in the Parish Center Fuel Middle School Youth Group Monday, August 25th @ 6:30pm in the Parish Center Ignited and Fuel will soon begin meeting regularly again. Bring a friend, and come hungry. Games, food, prayer time, and FUN!

With a recent influx of new students, we are in need of more ESL (English as a Second Language) Tutors. Help is needed on Tuesdays at 9:30 am, Wednesdays at noon, or Thursdays at 6:30pm.
The first Sunday of every month, "Meet & Greet" will be held after all Masses. This is a great opportunity to spend time getting to know fellow parishioners, while enjoying some tasty bakery and beverages.
