THE SEASON OF LENT AT THE BASILICA

ASH WEDNESDAY - February 14
Masses will be celebrated at 7:00 AM, 9:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 6:00 PM.

SOUP & SESSION
First Five Mondays of Lent (February 19, 26 and March 5, 12, 19)
Simple Soup Supper served in the Social Space at 6:00 PM, followed by a Session in the Lower Church at 7:00 PM. There is no charge to attend.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Celebrated every Friday during Lent at 6:00 PM.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION 
Wednesdays and Fridays following the noon Mass until Vepers/Benediction on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM and until Stations of the Cross and Benediction on Fridays at 6:00 PM.

BASILICA PENANCE SERVICE - Monday, March 26 at 6:00 PM 
A short prayer service will be offered at 6:00 PM. This will be followed immediately by the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Several priests will be on hand to facilitate individual confession.

FASTING & ABSTINENCE
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence.

The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal. Two smaller meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full meal.

The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding from age 14 onwards.
