As part of the Christian Women at the Basilica, you will find yourself surrounded by women of all ages who come from a variety of backgrounds and who desire to participate in a social and spiritual network with other women of our community. While most of our members are parishioners of the Basilica parish, women from other parish communities are welcome to participate.
Our Mission
As Christian Women, we want our lives to reflect the fullness, significance, and joy that Christ brings to each facet of every day. Our mission is to nurture the spiritual, personal, and social development of each member. We provide opportunities for outreach and encourage participation in functions and projects that strengthen the parish community.
Our leadership team consists of five elected officers, a chaplain, and the pastor. We hold a minimum of four general membership meetings each year. We strive to create varied and interesting meetings so that there is a sense of community and fun. Members are encouraged to participate, but not required to attend.
What We Do
To carry out our mission as Christian Women we provide spiritual growth not only at our general meetings but also through our Days of Reflection. We sponsor the Elizabeth Ministry which is an international movement designed to offer hope and healing for women and their families on issues related to childbearing, sexuality and relationships.
To nurture our personal and social development we provide events which include the anniversary mass, the November brunch, the craft and bake sale, the holiday dinner and the annual educational scholarship luncheon.
Other social events include, but are not limited to: crafts, game and movie nights, book club, golf outings, plays, bowling, and other events. Suggestions for social events are always welcome.
Our Newsletter
A quarterly newsletter is published for members. Included in the newsletter are our scheduled events, recognition of our members, and a spiritual inspiration message.
