he Medieval Church Councils (1000–1500) reflect the Church's growing self-understanding and evolving relationship with the world. This lecture explores four main themes: reform, Church structure, East-West division, and medieval heresies. These councils shaped today’s Church institutions and identity—understanding them deepens our understanding of Catholicism. Speaker: Donald S. Prudlo, PhD (University of Virginia, 2004), is the Warren Chair of Catholic Studies at the University of Tulsa. He specializes in medieval religious history and the Dominican Order, and is completing a book on the early Dominicans. He contributes to Vatican News and teaches across Christian thought.
