Congratulations on your engagement! Know of our prayers for you as you embark on the beautiful vocation of matrimony, of giving yourselves entirely to each other through this sacrament of the Church. Christ has brought you together, and we join in your joy.
For more information on the policies and procedures for celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony at the Basilica, please see the following resources:
Couples requesting to marry at the Basilica must complete the registration request form below at least six months prior to the date of the wedding. At least one of you must be a Catholic, and you must be free to marry in the Catholic Church.
Parishioners of the Basilica are entitled to the parishioner rate for marriage at the Basilica. To be considered a parishioner, one must either live in the parish boundaries or be active members of the parish, which includes attending Mass at the Basilica on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation, supporting the parish (either financially or by volunteering), and registration as a parish member at least one year prior to the proposed wedding date.
Those who are not parishioners are welcome to marry at the Basilica! Non-parishioners pay the specified rate as outlined in the Basilica Wedding Guidelines (linked above). In addition, couples who live outside the Archdiocese of Milwaukee will need to complete marriage preparation at their home parish and obtain a permission letter from their parish’s pastor to marry at the Basilica.
